Gallery 3D

I'm fascinated by non-photorealistic rendering, in particular all those techniques that can render 3D scenes in styles that make them look hand drawn (toon shading or toon rendering). For me, computer graphics are not an end but a menas -a tool that you use as you use your pencil or your brush.

Why is almost everyone trying to make images that look just like the real world? There was a time when painting also tried to be just like reality to the most minute detail (academic style). The academic works were so perfect and so cold at the same time. But with the arrival of photography, painting was freed and new ways of expression appeared (Impresionism, Cubism, Surrealism). Then all the Monets, Van Goghs, Picassos, and Dalis erupted.

I wonder what is going to happen the day that computer art abandons photorealism.
